Being prepared for your bridal session ensures that everything will go as smoothly as possible, which is why I’m providing you with this BRIDAL SESSION PACKING LIST!!

Booking a bridal session outside of your actual wedding day ensures that I am able to capture all the little details that you have so intentionally picked out, so obviously, it’s ESSENTIAL that you bring all the things that go into your completed look!

I hope you have your bag ready, it’s time to start packing for your upcoming bridal session adventure!!

10 things you need to pack in your bridal shoot survival kit

WEDDING + ENGAGEMENT RING

even though the main focus of your bridal session will be your dress (or whatever attire feels right to you), I like to be ahead of the game and get all the fine details that you’ll want to look back on for decades to come, and your ring(s) are one of those things that I just can’t NOT include in your gallery.

WEDDING DRESS + VEIL

now obviously this doesn’t have to BE a dress, but you get the vibe (aka totally rooting for a fun little jumpsuit or a bridal suit!). this is the main focus of our session and I’ll be taking A LOT of detail shots of any buttons, fun textures, and anything that just screams YOU + YOUR DAY.

SHOES YOU’LL WEAR DURING THE CEREMONY

again, one of those fun details I just can’t NOT include in your gallery. they’re the things that carry you through each step of your wedding day, so I want to make sure I capture them well

JEWELRY

your wedding dress/attire is gorgeous, but without your accessories, the look just isn’t complete and it wouldn’t be representative of the vibe we’re trying to capture, which is you on your wedding day (but not ;)).

EXTRA PAIR OF SHOES (IN CASE WE GO OFF THE BEATEN PATH)

I have a tendency to forget that most heels just weren’t made for walking, since I’m usually either in my Blundstones or my Hokas, so make sure you’re one step ahead of me and you’ve got some shoes packed that you wouldn’t mind getting just a tad dirty.

HAIR ACCESSORIES

a common mistake I’ve seen brides make in the past is that they will spend so much time steaming the dress or doing their makeup that they neglect to make sure their hair is reflective of what they’ll be doing on their wedding day.

side note: this would be a good day to schedule your trial run with your hair stylist!!! but if that’s not possible, a close dupe will work, and your hair accessories will be a MUST because I want to capture ALL the details, remember?!

A SAMPLE/DUPE OF YOUR BOUQUET

your florals are such an essential part of your wedding day, so I want to capture them in their full glory! florals also serve as a GORGEOUS backdrop to your ring detail shots, or just as something to hold when you start overthinking what to do with your hands ;)

HAIRSPRAY, BRUSHES, PINS, ETC.

basically just anything you need to look and feel your best in your photos, and to ensure that your hair is JUST the right amount of messy to feel candid, without risking you looking back at your photos and wondering what the heck your hair was doing the whole time.

FASHION TAPE + SAFETY PINS IN CASE OF ANY CLOTHING MALFUNCTIONS

listen, it’s probably been some months since you last wore your dress, so it’s pretty likely that our session will reveal a couple of things that might need to be fixed/tailored. in the meantime, some fashion tape and safety pins will do the trick and give you a good guide for what you’d like to be adjusted after our session.

A FRIEND, BRIDESMAID, OR FAMILY MEMBER WHO CAN HELP YOU TOUCH UP OR CARRY ANYTHING WHILE YOU’RE IN FRONT OF MY CAMERA

while I try to be as helpful as possible, I do prefer to focus my energy on curating some really creative + emotive shots for you, so it’s really helpful if you have someone who can help fix your hair if need be (without being too overbearing or critical! that’s never helpful and always makes the one in front of the camera super self-conscious!) or carry your veil/florals if we’re not using them in that particular shot.
